Frustrated with my math teacher

The class I am in is intro to Algebra. Math75. It's a pretty basic math class. I am doing excellent in it, with all 100's on all assignments. It is all online thru ALEKS.com
So here is my issue. I had my DS's PPT on Tuesday, and it looks like he won't be starting school until November now once they do all their assessments and we have a second PPT. I was counting on preschool for childcare when I signed up for class. DS's dad doesn't work on Tuesdays, so I don't have to worry about childcare on that day. My only issue is Thursdays. I emailed the teacher and politely explained my Thursday issue and what was going on with my ds. She responded with 1 line. "Attendance is required for this class, you may want to consider dropping this class if you can not meet the requirements of it". In the email I sent her, I said I would log on during the required time frame from home on Thursdays and do my work from home. The teacher does not take an actual paper attendance, she just goes by who is logged into ALEKS.com So who's to say I'm not in the class. Its huge. They said we can use our own laptops at the school because the school computers are so slow. So it isn't like we need to be logged into the school computer system. I feel so discouraged that she is just telling me to drop my class when I'm doing well, and I don't need any direction from her. I'm thinking I should speak to the Dean on Tuesday, but I'm not sure that would help. Any ideas or suggestions?

What an asshole. Yeah good idea to contact the dean. Do you know anyone who can babysit Thursdays?

The bureaucracy of most colleges is very convoluted. If it were me I would first write the Dean. Tell them the situation that you are in and your solution for solving this issue.
Otherwise, is there any way of you finding a childcare exchange with other families? Even if you don't get your Thursday issue solved it will be handing in the future.

Re: Frustrated with my math teacher

unfortunately I don't live near any of my family, and the one close mama friend I had, her hours changed at work and now she works 4am-noon. Her kids had to go to daycare. Thing is I can't afford daycare, and since the time I need childcare is during school house oppose to work hours the state child care assistance program won't help me (they would rather parent's be stuck in a shitty dead end job forever I guess). Add in that I am apparently not cut out for an online english class, it's making my head spin. Taking an online english class was probably a bad idea for someone who hasn't been in any type of formal schooling in 7 years. I am planning on going to speak to the dean on Tuesday. I'm just feeling down about school in general. I really don't want to withdraw AGAIN. Every time I have tried something like this happens and I have to withdraw. I can't even make it thru one freakin semester.
