I don't think the second one looks like a mullet at all ... it's very 80s ish style. I think it's super cute. I have a Tegan & Sara - style kind of mullet right now. Although it's grown out quit a bit.

If you get it cut right, you could wear it both ways. The cuts are pretty similar, its just the bottom one is flat ironed and flipped out at the bottom. But I like #1, and you totally look hot with semi-messy hair.

Honestly I like the second one best. The first one looks as good as it does because of how styled it is, I think the second one is a little less maintenance but still super cute. I'd say to avoid having it look like an outdated mullet thing, throw in a few fun colors.

just depends what kind of hair you have... if you have the kind that frizzes and fluffs the first one.
others peoples hair will refuse to fluff that much in one.
where some peoples hair will refuse to say straight and perfect like number 2.

It's such a good idea that you refer to pictures instead of just generalizing what you want. I went to the hairdresser a few weeks ago wanting a funky fringed bang look, and he cut the rest of my hair short (it was almost to my waist, now it's about halfway down my back) and gave me bangs but made it like 80s style bangs, and then fluffed it out. Honestly if you want sort of a reference it was very Linda-ish as per The Wedding Singer.

nah don't worry, I think it's funny. Hair grows back. Especially mine. 2 years ago I modelled in a hair show and my hair went from my waist to my chin, it only took 2 years to get back down to my waist again, my hair grows super fast. So I can laugh at bad cuts, cause I know it won't last long.

lmfao yeah, that pic was done with the new cut. That was actually done the day of the cut so it was still all 80slicious, but I cut most of the cut out of the picture ;D
